Scientific Issues

Nuclear Weapons: The big debate over nuclear weapons is that some people are afraid that the "waste" might damage the enviroment. However, strict law and protocols make nuclear power clean, cheap, and long-lasting. Obama is not a strong supporter of Nuclear weapons, but McCain sees it as a great energy source and wanted to implement the building of about 44 plants across the U.S. which would create about 700,00 jobs by 2030.

Offshore Oil-Rig-Drilling: Some people don't want them because they don't like seeing them when they lay on thr beach. Some people think they're a danger to the enviroment. Some people want them because they will help decrease ever-rising gas prices. McCain is a strong supporter of offshore-oil-rig-drilling, he sees it as a our only option besides getting oil from the middle east, and since the oil is close by, we can save prices of shipping it from Saudi Arabia. However, Obama would rather pursue cleaner, more enviromental friendly ways to create energy.

Global Warming: In the past 50 or so years, the worldwide normal climate has gone up several degrees, causing some ice in the poles to melt and some types of animals have trouble surviving in a hotter climate i.e. Penguins & Polar bears. Some people believe it is attributed to man-made greenhouse gasses output from cars and factories that have caused this, others, think its just a natural, timed occurence. McCain believes it is man-made, however Palin thinks it is a natural happening. However both McCain and Obana plan to decrease output of greenhouse gasses in order to stop global warming.

10 Issues

Abortion: Obama believes in it, McCain thinks its wrong

Education: Both McCain and Obama think its important for the youth of America to receive a good education, to succeed well in Life.

Death Penalty: Obama believes the death penalty is “Okay” in some cases but is not a strong supporter. McCain however. Believes the Death Penalty should be capital punishment for all but Minors.

Environment: Obama is more of a “Go Green, or Go Home” kind of person, wanting to create renewable, environmental friendly energy, while McCain supports nuclear power and offshore oilrig drilling.

Health Care: Obama wants to give everybody free healthcare, which might bankrupt the economy, while McCain wants to create an affordable, business cooperated healthcare system.

Immigration: One of McCain’s top priorities is to secure our borders from border-hoppers, then work on helping the immigration system. Obama is basically doing the same thing.

Iraq War: McCain wants to stay and help support their government, meanwhile Obama wants to effectively find attack the people who initiated 911 and pull out.

Economy: Obama plans to do the Robin hood thing, tax cuts and giving money to the middle class. While McCain’s plan would give money to big companies which would then slide down to the middle and low class as the economy levels out.

Poverty: Obama is determined to help lower income families by giving extremely high tax cuts. While McCain is focused on helping the big companies which in turn will help small families.

Stem-cell Research: Obama believes it will do more good than harm, and cure people with terminal illnesses. While McCain believes it is unethical and against his good morals

I picked Alaska as my state to follow on the polls. Alaska is a main source of oil for the United States and I'm from there so I decided it would be more interesting and easier to do.
