Political Cartoon

Political Cartoon
The Government makes choices that have to be made, even though they will not help the public. In this cartoon the Secretary of the Treasury is holding a gun to a tax payer saying “It Pains me, it pains me tremendously to do this.” and the gun says “Trillion $ bailout”. This is referring to the money that was given to the big companies to keep the stock market from completely crashing. Next, you see the Tax Payer saying, “Not as much as it’s going to Pain me”. All that money is being given to companies and the American citizens have to pay it all back from our own pockets by increasing taxes. Overall this may help us, but for now all its going to do is make things more expensive and cost us for the moment, but hopefully it will keep the stock market from crashing.

Religion has a large effect in the Election for President. In this cartoon there are two Elephants, representing Republicans, and the one on the left asks, “Still nobody buying”? And in the background there are two costumes, the one on the left is an Arab style robe with a headdress and the Quran next to it, with the name Obama below it. The other costume is a Soccer mom’s outfit with an AK-47 and the name Michelle under it. The joke is, when Obama was being interviewed on Life TV he slipped up and told everyone he was a Muslim and then tried to correct himself saying, he was a Christian. This shows that not only is Obama a Liar, he is a Liberal Muslim.

Crisis can give candidates something to work on and say that it will be fixed to sway voters. In this cartoon you see a person telling McCain “Sir, You’ve got to get on top of this Economic Crisis, FAST! Before your Running mate field dresses it”. Then you see Sarah Palin climbing on top of a bull, about to “field dress” it. This is showing that McCain should be in more control than Palin but in reality, Palin is even more popular than McCain. The unsaid joke is that Palin grew up in Alaska, going hunting with her father and she is about to “field dress” the Economic Issues. Overall the cartoon is saying that McCain should have more control and should fix Economic issues himself rather than having Sarah Palin do it.
